When searching for a rental property take the time to read the ad in full.  Take the time to google map the area to see if the area is suitable for you.  Follow the instructions in the ads.  If a showing is granted, give yourself plenty of time to park and show up on time.  Bring a pen incase you want to fill out an application.

TIP #2

Never burn your bridges....a Landlord/Property Manager's referral is one of the best referrals you can get.  Leave a property BETTER than how it was given to you.  Correspond with your Landlord/Property Manager when things are breaking down BEFORE a disaster happens.  Be patient and polite with your Landlord/Property Manager.  Ask and try to not demand, it makes a big difference in the end.  Lastly, communication is key.
